# I have been using NTL and BT for years..
I disagree and say that NTL have caused me considerably LESS grief than BT.

Lucky, I guess.

edit: not just me

# I concur.
I suggest that they are the very best service you can get in this country.
Unless you are a buffoon and are unable to clear your own dns cache and request a new IP from DHCP as happens every now and again. If more people learned how to do this Tech support would actually have time to answer real problems.

# seriously
try it in Swansea, they threatened my mate with court and stuff like that, whenever you phone you're sent half way around the country 8 times and end up speaking to the first person again, who doesnt have a clue who you are

# ^
all experiance I have had trying to sort my mates service out was like this. Turned out the signal wasn't strong enough due to a problem when they installed it. Took almost 6 months to sort and they spent the whole time denying it and gave nothing back to my mates family who had been paying for a service that worked for about 2 hours a day.

# I've been with them years. I learned
a lomg time ago to get the number for my LOCAL broadband support team.
As for going round the country? I've never known this, it's the reason you enter your phone number and area code, so it puts you to the right people.
If he is threatened with court I suggest that he pays his bills.

As for Nad above I can only suggest that it's because if an inherited network. You don't get signal loss through fibre optic. If he's still got a copper connection to the trunk then he'll always have trouble.

# Try moving house
Took them 10 weeks to get everything set up properly. All they had to do, in the end was send a CD to set up Broadband.

# NTL are great
The broadband is brill and decently priced. It's just the teething probs they're having lately that's crap.
