second series was better and the zoo wasn't all that good, got them all on DVD the other day and been watching them almost non stop

but I think it suffered from the lack of a solid base like the zoo.
It also suffered from lack of Bob Fossil.
And the little bits Howard and Vince did in front of the curtain at the start of each episode in the first series should have been continued in the second series, as they were ace.

Personally I really didn't like the bit in front of the curtains, didn't find it funny at all. Have you seen the extras bit on the second series DVD with the short film 'Sweet'? Haha that's brilliant!

I did like the bits in front of the curtain, I think it made the viewer feel a bit more involved, and like it was an actual show rather than a slice of an alternative reality.
They also did a few bits of talking-to-camera in the first series, which I don't think they did in the second, and I think it suffered for that.
