People who wish they were mods and have to have their little ego trips by clicking on every single picture that comes up and seeing how big it is so the can decide if it's too big or not rather than actually just commenting on the picture.

If any one single person has ever noticed that a 100k picture has loaded too slowly for them then I'd agree, as it is they need to find something better to get ranty about of an evening.

but what does wind me up is when people start having a go at "nazi's" who are simply asking others to follow the rough guidelines of the site. At the end of the day, what harm does that really do, other than helping people to understand the nuances of optimisation?

No one had a go at DMQOB until he shouted "fuck that!" which was really waving a red rag to a bull.

It's almost getting to a point that people are trying to wind up board members by putting big files up. What ever happened to everyone using this site for happy thoughts and fun?!

Just look at the pretty pictures, comment on them, or not.

Have you noticed the board moving slowly because of large pictures WITHOUT looking at the file sizes? Have you bugger, so why's it a problem unless people start posting obviously MASSIVE pictures?

but never mind that. It's about community spirit. If I accidentally posted a picture that was 120k and someone said "thats 115k Toast" then I'd thank them for pointing it out and change it.

Really, are people THAT busy that they can't hit Open, re-save and reupload?

And I can bet money that I'm not alone in this.

What I object to is being villified for making something that is small. I've not made a 1 meg picture, it's 115k.
