though yes, i agree with "repeated teaching". and i think that there are plenty of things we're repeatedly taught which cause it.

favourites include:
rich=successful
"casual" racism
marketing
government scaremongering

and many churches oppose one or more of the above. i reckon that on average religion breaks even
