# Okay then
Do you go to school then? You're not a teacher are you?

# Oh now I feel like I'm missing out....
"Timmykins! Timmy Naboomboo! Can you get me a vodka cos I don't want to waste valuable time on line"
(, Mon 22 Apr 2002, 20:52, archived)
# Oh.
I've just asked and been told that I don't need vodka after the weekend I've had and that I'm starting to get a problem.
There's nothing wrong with being an old drunken lush is there? Arse. Pass me the mineral water.
(, Mon 22 Apr 2002, 20:54, archived)
# NO! No!
it's fine and you're not a lush, just more in touch with the way you like to have fun. Seriously, I have a mate who used to constantly refer to my alcoholism and it really got me down for ages, until I worked out that she never went out, drove the 10-minute walk to the pub and drank lemonade every time I saw her.
YOU do NOT have a problem. Or if you do, I probably do too... :)

# Nah, I try and be really healthy all week and as debauched as possible at the weekend
A nice balance. I'm all veg, fruit and mineral water Mon-Fri, then all booze, hangover food and other luxuries all weekend.
(She says with a freshly poured vodka and orange next to the monitor)
It's just that I'm easily led and encouraged!! Gotta be done though.

# heck
i ate fish and brown rice tonight. I DESERVE this baileys.
(, Mon 22 Apr 2002, 21:09, archived)
# I'm well into brown rice these days.
Yeah c'mon! I had roasted vegetables and only one vegeburger with no mayonnaise. I deserve this vodka. Oh, yeah, but then I did scoff 3 slices of Havarti before I'd even left Waitrose carpark. Mmmmm cheese...see, Wifey, I can't get up the duff, I cannot give up cheese. I need it, it is my civil right.
(, Mon 22 Apr 2002, 21:13, archived)
# You only have to give
up soft cheese. I must admit I had some sneaky cheese now and again.. Don't tell the health visitor. She's scary..
(, Mon 22 Apr 2002, 21:16, archived)
# i couldn't live
without soft cheese now and again.

But then, I'm really afraid of the whole giving up smoking/deformed baby thing. If I ever do have a child, that will be the Hardest Thing About It.
(, Mon 22 Apr 2002, 21:23, archived)
# I don't know
about the smoking thing, but I just go off drink when I'm up the duff, so no drinking is quite easy. I was worried the taste wouldn't come back. The bad bit is that I now get pissed very, very easily...
(, Mon 22 Apr 2002, 21:27, archived)
# I've convinced
that men who *smoke* are more likely to have girls, based on the evidence from my observations of friends and their kids. Not good. I want a boy first. Only have boys names sorted.
(, Mon 22 Apr 2002, 21:34, archived)
# acherly
that's true. They've done studies on it and everything. The nicotine absorbtion in both men and women means you're more likely to concieve girls.

# I was just about to say that
(, Mon 22 Apr 2002, 21:46, archived)
# no no no.
just a phrase I use - "worknight" is so much more depressing (then again, I don't have kids)
re: thread below tho, I have run out of wine now and am going to fetch meself a baileys. Mmmm, girl-drinks!
(, Mon 22 Apr 2002, 20:54, archived)
# Hee hee hee, the sweet and innocent girlie voice gets him every time
He's in the kitchen getting me a little voddie!!
Baileys, how can you have a stash of Baileys that hasn't been drunk.
Wifey, are you actually grown up enough that you have a drinks cabinet? I can't imagine my friend's knowing that I have a stash of booze and not coming round and raiding me after the pub.
(, Mon 22 Apr 2002, 20:59, archived)
# Hang on a minute
I'll take a picture..
(, Mon 22 Apr 2002, 21:03, archived)
# Phew, that's a relief
I would hate the thought of you being a teacher.

# This couple I know are both teachers
and they're weekend lunatics. The bloke is deputy head of English at secondary school. He said this girl once handed him a loveletter (to him) in with her homework so he corrected the spelling and handed it back.

# sooperb!
how utterly crushing!!

# I know, it's quality.
Another mate of mine works at a blind peoples' care home, and he was pretending to play the keyboard for them and pressed one of the preset buttons with Mozart on it or something, and they were all astounded at how fantastic he was and praising him, and he told them, "yeah, I've been learning the piano since I was five" Naughty Pazoozu Umbezi.
Dr PK, where do you live again?

# my sister's
a teacher.
Then she had kids and decided to give up - she felt she ought to indulge in a little more adult company - she said she could feel her brain atrophying, poor kitten.
