
my second ever, i really need improving these skills!

any suggestions on improving the sizes of these files?

Smaller image size
smaller palette size
lower dither - 50% usually looks as good as 100%, but with a saving of 10kb possible on even a small 50kb pic
less detailed pic - if you're using PS/IR, use the lossy options in the optimisation settings to strip out a little unnecessary detail.
less stuff changing - the echoes of "you smell" is cool-looking, but adds a couple of ks...

is a massive 1.2K, and they don't come much simpler.
ah, it's 183K now, seems much more sensible. cutting the image dimensions to about 200-280 pixels makes the biggest difference to file size...
