# I for one am encouraging the occasional, interesting text only posts.
Sure, this isn't a shining example, but historically Syncubus has been a pioneer of interesting, occasional text only posts. I like them, but it is important that people remember the words interesting and occasional.

# I used to frequent another site
where they had the saying "earn your bullshit"... in other words, a lot of on-topic posts earned you the occasional bullshit post.
Personally, I think that's fair enough. And I don't think Syncubus has earned this much bullshit.

# I like Sync's stuff
I miss Sync's stuff, but I remember it fondly.

# me too...
If I didn't I'd have clicked ignore long ago.

# I missed the qualifer "this much"
meh, he usually reserves it for the gay shift

# I'd decided not to bug you anymore about it, but are you going to finish that rap?
I want to work the song around the lyrics this time, so it's kind of holding me up.

# I busted the moniter of the computer that had the rap on it :(
Really sorry, dude.

# Do you still have the lyrics anywhere? send me a copy and I'll get one of my friends to do it.
(, Sat 25 Nov 2006, 5:54, archived)
# The only copy was on my computer
though I did post some of the lyrics on here. For some reason I can't glasscock myself, but if you can it'll probably come up for "tuition". If you can get it, you can do whatever you want with it.

I'll try and remember it.

edit: I think I do. I'll type it up and post what I've got.

# I like the concept, but if that's the case, I am pure bullshit with a massive debt...
I agree with what you're getting at though.

I just think that whenever something gets argued away from the board, it loses another aspect of the whole "anything goes" feel. I think that censorship in any way is evil, but it does mean that you have to put up with a bit of bullshit on the way.

# I was trying to be tongue-in-cheek
But following up a post with 'LOL' seemed like a pretty cheesy way of making light of it.

Wasn't trying to be a prick

...sorry

# This is in no way aimed at you, or anyone else I'm replying to at the moment. I AM TALKING TO THE INTERNET.

understood.

# To clarify my own position
I love chatting in threads, and I like talking to Syncubus. I just don't like to see threads started like this very often, and Sync's a 'frequent offender' in that regard IMO.
If 4 or 5 more people on the nightshift started doing this with the same regularity, it wouldn't be worth posting pics here at night, at least not for me.
I do agree with you that ALL aspects of this board are worthwhile and the permissiveness of this place is part of its appeal.
But abusing the spirit of the place too frequently runs the risk of undermining its central focus and appeal, which (I'm pretty sure you'll agree) is the posting of user-produced images.

# Yes, I do agree. We're making the same argument from opposite sides of the coin...
:)

Let it be known that I don't do smileys if I don't like who I'm talking to.
