# It was all too easy except for the rubber band.
Edit: sorry to threadjack, but does anyone know how to make bookmark avatars for your website?

#
www.chami.com/html-kit/services/favicon/
just stick the file in your home directory.

# There's also this plugin for Tattyshop to allow saving to .ico.

# favicon.ico
i just made a little gif and renamed it thusly, and put it in the root folder
you can do something clever with html, but most browsers just look for that

# just put it in root?
I've been meaning to do this for over 2 years now. I'm a code monkey and feel stupid asking about HTML
(, Thu 15 Mar 2007, 15:02, archived)
# in the same place as your index.htm file

# that's what idid
it didn't work straight away, despite refreshes

but it did after a browser restart. i've only ever seen it working in ff on a mac, as i'm forced to use a steampowered version of ie at work

# It's easiest if it's in root.
example: www.b3ta.com/favicon.ico

<link rel="Shortcut Icon" type="image/x-icon" href="http://www.yourdomain.com/favicon.ico" />
(handy if it's not in root, and for some browsers)
(, Thu 15 Mar 2007, 15:06, archived)
# put that in <body>?
(, Thu 15 Mar 2007, 15:18, archived)
# No, <head>.
(, Thu 15 Mar 2007, 15:29, archived)
# Yeah, I've got mine working...
...I've noticed however that internet explorer tends to "forget" the favicons after a while. Is this just because it's shit?

# Thankyou all!

# no no
