i find trout mask replicautterly impenetrable.
it was the very first album i had that was totally off the wall like that.
i remember thinking 'this is shit, theres no songs' and putting it away, bear in mind the beefheart id heard was doc at the radar station and ice cream for crow - slightly odd albums but still pretty normal compared. That was a few years ago and ive not really thought about it since...
i think its time to dig it out again !!!

go back to Trout Mask...difficult but worth it. If you can handle Japanese turntablists, I reckon you'll be Ok with it.
