I wake up shattered every morning, crawl through the day fantasising about sleep.
Then inexplicably around 11.30pm I am awake & alert, just in time for bed.
Repeat the next day.

that's a symptom of SAD I think.
I get exactly the same thing, mainly in winter - it's to do with light levels during the day. Read up on it!

My ladyfriend still uses a lightbox occasionally even in summer (especially when the weather's as filthy as it is at the moment).
I use it myself from time to time - it does make a difference.

combos of
SAD
stress
too much cocodamol, paracetamol and caffeine
if you get a headache - just drink water
if you feel tired - don't drink caffeine
if you feel dizzy - don't eat sugar
take more (some) exercise
avoid pollution, especially diesel fumes (train stations & traffic buildup)
avoid close proximity to printers, photocopiers ( VOC)
avoid aerosol deodorants and domestic cleaners such as spray bleach etc
get fresh air
it all works

although I thought sick-building syndrome and all that stuff was bunk until I started suffering from it
at its worst I thought I must have a brain tumour or something. Turns out just to be environmental and dietary

at its worst I thought I must have a brain tumour or something. Turns out just to be environmental and dietary

including IBS, chronic fatigue, nausea, so on.
I wondered if it might be environmental - but then she confessed that she'd never slept a full night's sleep since she was 12.
I'm getting her to a sleep clinic soon because I reckon lack of sleep could be causing all of it.
