Stoats are biggerAnd they're more of a chestnut brown whereas weasels are a more russet-brown. Stoats have a black tufty tip on the end of their tail, and weasels don't. Weasels also don't have an ermine coat in winter, but stoats do - and their black tail tips are what makes the black dots in ermine trims. gross.
