that's why I think there should be
an hourly thread to allow compo entries. That way it's easy to hide the thread if you hate that week's compo.

but I like b3ta. Seeing as Fraser asked Prodge how to improve the compo, I thought and came up with something that I thought would win all round. I wouldn't bother hiding the compo post but I wouldn't have to keep spazzing back to older pages when 150bazillion compo entries all got posted in new threads one after the other.

perhaps the answer is to announce the compo on wednesday but not open it til friday
thus slowing down the torrent of "shit i've got an idea i'll bang this out quick" entries

It's not me that hates the compo
It just seemed a reasonable way to keep everyone happy. Prodge can just click 'hide' once an hour an never have to see another compo entry as long as he lives.
