but I like b3ta. Seeing as Fraser asked Prodge how to improve the compo, I thought and came up with something that I thought would win all round. I wouldn't bother hiding the compo post but I wouldn't have to keep spazzing back to older pages when 150bazillion compo entries all got posted in new threads one after the other.

perhaps the answer is to announce the compo on wednesday but not open it til friday
thus slowing down the torrent of "shit i've got an idea i'll bang this out quick" entries

Hmmm. Possibly
as long as they don't save them up.
Mind you, that might work as well. Friday would be come in, do some work, have lunch, look at newsletter, go home.

It's not me that hates the compo
It just seemed a reasonable way to keep everyone happy. Prodge can just click 'hide' once an hour an never have to see another compo entry as long as he lives.

That'd stop me from entering.

I think it's fine the way it is.
All image challenges throw up rubbish ideas, but also some real strokes of genius.
This hasn't been one of my favourites, I must admit. There doesn't appear to be much of a challenge on the surface, and not much originality.

I think
what annoys me most is tha amount of repetetive, no effort, no talent shit that gets posted. They all tend to be in a new thread which zooms anything good right off the board. I still like the idea of an hourly compo thread being the only place to be able to post compo entries.

I think you are being unsympathetic
a sizable number of people have no idea what is funny and what isn't (me included).
Especially here, the home of Asperger's on the net.
