I have powers to do anything?
Besides, the whole point of being able to ignore people is so individuals can take away the posts that annoy them, rather than have all the trolls getting more replies than the non trolls.
Except it turns out people like being all superior and shouting at trolls more than they like having the annoying posts being hidden.

I tend to agree.
But the problem with the current system is that ignoring a user ignores all subsequent posts and nobody wants that. We would rather have a line that says "post/user ignored" than have whole portions of the board missing because we don't want to see the rants of dickheads. It then becomes more fun to say " I'm ignoring you, twat. I'm telling everyone too" ( i do tend to follow through with my ignores, I just don't tend to make them last more than a month because of the reasons stated above )
And it was me that said you had powers to do stuff, up there, see?

Why would you want to see the replies?
The replies are going to be nothing but people saying, "Cock off, n00b" or "La la la... I'm ignoring you".
Though admittedly, this is probably more coherent than the normal board chat.
