Indeedthat's one of the things that's really upset me. I often pull gifs in and edit them, and that's basically over, which is a huge issue for me. Their advice on their forums to 'Use Fireworks' is a long way short of helpful... basically they've removed a very small but essential part of PS's functionality and replaced it with the 'option' to buy a tacky piece of bloatware to replace it. That's not the kind of thing I expect from Adobe, and I hope it's not indicative of a new direction for them.
Also, the fact that there's no longer a dedicated 'Save Optimized' option means that every time a minor frame timing change is made, the 'Save for web' dialogue has to be reopened, even though timing changes make no difference to file sizes and therefore do not require reoptimization. It's a small thing, but in the course of a complex animation it starts to really grate and add time.

I still have CS2 on disk hereand I am very slightly tempted to re-install ImageReady but I KNOW there'll be issues and I just can't afford the time to play around with software. With my current deadlines I just need stuff that works properly with the minimum of tinkering (thankfully I managed to avoid the Acrobat install problems).

I just left CS2suite on and installed CS 3 design as well. There are no conflicts between any of the versions apart from CS3 adopting all the associations. There are some plugin issues and interface problems with CS3 photoshop so I'd never lose CS2 just yet anyway.
