the average turd would hang in free fall at the same rate as the craft it was floating in. The propulsion it was given by the act of shitting it out may give it some momentum that would be absorbed by the first thing it hit and squashed up against.
However being a fairly light object I suspect that the average turd would also be moved around in a space craft by the movement of air coming from the air circulator machinery. Turds in space... cool.
