I think for most people it's a learning curve. Some steeper than others, obviously.

it's more to do with respect I would saya lot of people turn up here, post a crap image and call each other cnuts and think that that is a good days posting. I have no time for that.
However if you spend a bit of time and effort, make something you yourself are pleased with and then decide to post it up here you are almost guaranteed a good response.
Posting for the sake of posting and worse for the sake of trolling is easy to spot and generally disliked.
