and you've just popped up a very old memory of mine. i went to university in hamilton, and the first time i'd ever heard of hamilton was as a child - the murder of john dick and their infant son by wife/mother evelyn. the case was known as the torso killing because a few kids found the mutilated torso of the man's corpse on the escarpment (infant was found later encased in cement inside a suitcase). the story fascinated me as a child and i went to school there partly out of morbid curiousity.
