I'm looking at about 3400 milesand about $600 for the round trip flight between Hartford and London (not to mention ground transport once on UK soil), so I'm afraid I'm going to have to take a pass on this one.

Actually, I was shocked at how otherwise affordable the flight really is!Hardly a deterrant, normally. However:
a) I'm down a vehicle due to my old truck finally shitting the bed, so need to buy a replacement
b) The clothes dryer just shit the bed, and it may be the motor - hardly worth repairing if that's the case because it's 15 years old or so
c) The mortgage is already late
Plus it'd be pretty difficult to put this past the wife. She's never too keen on me flying, but going overseas for a bash would keep me from any happy-fun-times for the foreseeable future (and for some time after that, I'm sure!).
