He wants them to be noticable when used, ie for special events, so wants the usual ones to be b/wThat said, I believe they did have them in the very early days, the decision to swap over was a pretty purposeful one though from what I can tell

All of this seems reasonable. I like the idea of colour suddenly appearing for special occasions. For one thing, you wouldn't notice the candles so easily for b3tadays.
