
no idea who though. The likelihood is that the ships have come loose on the motherboard; if it's out of warrenty open it up and press every chip back onto the main motherboard then re-power up (sounds bollocks, but that's how 90% of them are fixed by Microsoft)

Apparenly if you have a SATA port on your motherboard in your home pc, you can remove the DVD drive from the console and connect it to the SATA port - it's possible to flash the DVD drive to play backups through a floppy boot disk by doing this.
Found an 8meg word doc on it (pics included). Not got an Xbox anymore though lol

if its the 3 red ring problem then its free, which is nice of them.. its not too bad, just annoying i was looking foward to playing a bit of rainbow 6 and it doesn't work.
saw a thing on youtube about fixing it by purposly overheating it by wrapping it in a towel dont think i want to do that.. can just see my house burning down if i try

When the console heats up and the DVD drive is used, the motherboard vibrates slightly off the external casing and eventually shakes the chips from the motherboard. The console BIOS spacks out and gives 3 lovely rings of death. They've sorted it to a much better degree in the latest batch of consoles plus as it's their fault you should be given a replacement free of charge too.
