
Slight TJ- does anyone have a leopard gecko? I've had mine for four months and she's never said anything and now she's sort of....barking. In a tiny high pitched way.

And twasn't a pet shop- she'd have been very expensive if it was as she's a hyper tangerine or something like that. Nah, my cousin was a breeder....

but when i was in mexico, the geckos (no idea what species) on the wall of the room i was living in used to call to each other...i think it's the males that "bark" at each other (but could easily be mistaken)...
i think it's normal behaviour for them when they want some sexy time....

maybe i was just talking bollocks about it being the males that call, i just have a vague recollection of being told that...anyway, geckos do call though...according to wikipedia that's the origin of their name:
"The name stems from the Malay word gekoq, imitative of its cry. "
