Slight TJ- does anyone have a leopard gecko? I've had mine for four months and she's never said anything and now she's sort of....barking. In a tiny high pitched way.

And twasn't a pet shop- she'd have been very expensive if it was as she's a hyper tangerine or something like that. Nah, my cousin was a breeder....

Not sure if he's breeding them though.

but when i was in mexico, the geckos (no idea what species) on the wall of the room i was living in used to call to each other...i think it's the males that "bark" at each other (but could easily be mistaken)...
i think it's normal behaviour for them when they want some sexy time....

conjures up a bizarre mental image of a lizard/cheesy snack hybrid...
maybe i was just talking bollocks about it being the males that call, i just have a vague recollection of being told that...anyway, geckos do call though...according to wikipedia that's the origin of their name:
"The name stems from the Malay word gekoq, imitative of its cry. "

Maybe she's bored. I'm going to get her something to play with on the way home.

and he's never made a noise once. I didn't even know they could make noises.

But she's doing it when she's alone in her tank so it's not as if she's being threatened. She's not even shouting at her wormies, as she didn't have any in with her then.
