ps, I'll check out more Shostakovich.Like what I've heard, but Bach (who I'm a big fan of) is more an influence on Sweeney Todd. :)

That's may as bebut I guarantee that if you listen to more Shostakovich youll see far more links in that. I saw Valery Gergiev conducting the whole of Shos's work with the London Symphony Orchestra over his year as "temp" conductor with the LSO. It was absolutely astonishing. A lot of the latrr stuff I couldnt get my head round, but it was still amazing!
