For a high duty cycle, low production unit costs 3500 second hand. Bet it could be brought down a lot for high volume home quality.

But then you'd have a load of neurotic women who don't know how to read an ultrasound properly running to A&E because they'd seen something worrying. It's not a wonderful idea. Same reason I don't agree with home bought foetal heart monitors.
