People do that.Richard told me had a cat that got into a fight and had a gangey eye, and he wandered off one day and some of the neighbours found him.
They got an unlicensed vet to put it down by, as Richard describes it "Injecting him with cyanide. In the eyeballs"
How much of that is true, I would hate to imagine.
