# consider the possibility that you will do them a world of good when you do come out.
sometimes people just need to be exposed to that dreaded 'other' before they can accept it.

i've always known i'd have to cut myself off from them eventually...
that is why i am waiting to tell them though.

emotionally 100% ready to tell them right now...financially...

just don't delay forever - even people we have little in common with or dislike or care for despite some qualities deserve to appraise us as we are, not as we pretend to be.

my dad was cool with me being queer (he had no opinion on hetero couples, for that matter), my mother vacillates on it (as she does on everything). my ex's parents were terrific - i was their son's partner, no different than the hetero kids' partners.

and here I thought I was the only gay in the village, strange thing with my parents really, I've told them, they just don't seem to believe me, ah well I'll be living with my partner by this summer, so who needs em.
