I was under the impression that, whilst medically inexact, I was excresting the poo in that I was expelling it from my body?

I think it's one of thosewords which had a very specific and technical meaning but has come into a more broad one. I wasn't expecting you to change it was just that I had been doing about last week in Biology.
Edit: Also, poo is what's left once the nutrients and water have been removed and mixed with other bodily fluids. It's not the product of a chemical reaction. You secrete it, you don't excrete it.
