thats a good ideafor some reason the law here says that taking anything that someone has left as rubbish is theft. I tried to claim a chair from a skip once and the policemen who was watching me told me to put it back and let it get taken away to be disposed of. wtf?

there are similar laws here, but rarely enforced.and people here tend to tag stuff as free so the garbage collectors don't take it, and it's common so i don't think the cops harrass people.
a couple of years ago the cops stopped me when i was out one night but it was because there had been a break-in and when i told them i was garbage shopping they knew the score.
