I once made an orange mushroom cloud in the lab

I heated up conc acid to about 50'C, then added it to some orange solution. . .huge puff of smoke which resulted in mushroom cloud around the ceiling.
It stayed there for 1 minute, everyone was watching, then it went clear.

I shat myself!

All we got to do was leave some benzene for a few mins with the top off
Then lob a match on it - big fire!

Yeah, finding jobs for chemistry sucks

Especially if you're a new graduate. Everyone wants experience, nearly got a job at pfizer had i more than 1 years experience :(
