i have a piddly little 1gb one :(

i have about 30gbs of music. i'm saddened by this.

I'm now down to my phone's music player.

I can just about squeeze on one album. I'd buy an extra memory card for it, but frankly the quality isn't good enough to bother with it.

mine a ten quid one from woolys that every few weeks scrambles all the tracks

i had a 1gb creative but the sonuvabitch broke when i walked into door with it sticking out of the laptop, gah!

Yeah I did this

About 40gig of decent quality files, compressed down to about 18gig of shitty quality files so that they'd all fit on my player.

I've even got a shatner/nimoy compilation album on that MP3 player, I've got that much space free.

That's a lot of choons :D

I reckon high-quality music is worth the extra space it takes up. There's nothing quite like crisp, high-quality sound through expensive headphones.

Unfortunately, I have no high quality headphones.

I might buy some shortly after getting my laptop, though.
When I rip stuff now, I normally just go for variable bit rate and let it sort itself out.

I've only got 2GB of music though, so it doesn't really bother much.

Plus it's an absolutely wee cube that hangs around your neck.
