
I had a bottle of colombard chardonnay last night from my package from the wine club. It was divine ( J.P. Chenet ) and cheap. I was going to have another but tried the Western Cellars one instead and it was acidy muck ( from the same grape variety )
It's all about taste I suppose. there are fine whites out there but nothing yet has beaten my favourite tipple of Chateaux neuf de pape. That is the god's nectar.

about the chenet. have you tried montrachet? it's my favourite, but very hard to find round these parts.

I get all my stuff delivered from Tesco wine club which sounds worse than it is. I do buy by the case though.

I don't use even vaguely expensive wine to cook with -- a total waste of something drinkable. Really cheap wine works just as well, if you've got the kind of cooking skills I have, anyway...
