run screaming?Really loudly, everytime they come near you? Shout 'don't touch me arrrgggh! Help someone help me!' - something like that should keep em away... worth a try?

if you just said it quite calmlywhenever they were near you 'dont touch me', while staring, normally makes people wary. i have used it once or twice and people look at you like you might be psychotic, therefore dont bother you again (only used in extreme situations)
