Wouldn't that just look shockingly appaling. I would imagine to get tentacles working you would need some kind of latex/rubber/possibly foam and then coat it in lots of uber clear drying glue so it looks like it is covered in dribbling ooze.

# Lycra's best for stretching over bent wire and not having it bunch too much.
It's also cheap, easy to stitch, strong, comes in a huge array of colours and prints and skims over any holes in stuffing well.
