# cool
nicely animated, you've got the hang of that.

# cheers,
its very strange animating stuff in PS.
(, Fri 27 Jun 2008, 23:56, archived)
# balls to PS
use either FW for your GIFing
or flash if you've got the time to learn it
(, Fri 27 Jun 2008, 23:57, archived)
# good to know
i thought it was quite a long winded way of doing it.
(, Fri 27 Jun 2008, 23:59, archived)
# Really?
Fireworks for GIFing?
Why's that?
(, Fri 27 Jun 2008, 23:59, archived)
# well its not a great program
but the cross-compatibility with other adobe programs is what wins it for me.
having said that there are hundreds of programs for gif animating; its a case of what you like really.

# i would have put ease in/out motion on the bird
but PS said no.

(its quagmire style at the mo)

# I've just transferred to PS from FW
because everyone said i had to.
they were right, and it's brilliant, of course.
I've only animated in Flash so far; is it worth going back to FW for short anims?
(, Sat 28 Jun 2008, 0:11, archived)
# yeah i think it is
i like some of the nice tools FW offers
but TBH flash is so smooth it may not be worth it

# have you got cs3 then?
or was this a frame by frame number?
(, Sat 28 Jun 2008, 0:00, archived)
# yeh cs3
(, Sat 28 Jun 2008, 0:01, archived)
# i'm aware that that has an animation tool
i still haven't got fully round to playing with image ready yet
(, Sat 28 Jun 2008, 0:03, archived)
# i'm a professional graphic designer and digital artist
and i have literally never even opened imageready.
maybe i should one day
(, Sat 28 Jun 2008, 0:04, archived)
# I opened IR accidentally once..
it wasn't pretty.
(, Sat 28 Jun 2008, 0:06, archived)
# There is no imageready in CS3, all the animation features got absorbed into photoshop.
Which personally I think is unfortunate as there aren't really any save to web type features now.
(, Sat 28 Jun 2008, 0:05, archived)
# yeh they are still there
'Save for web and devices'.
(, Sat 28 Jun 2008, 0:07, archived)
# I remember there was a difference in it, although I can't remember how fewer comparison modes as in imageready or something.
Plus the new Photoshop is ridiculously slow and bevelled and all shiny, which is irritating.
(, Sat 28 Jun 2008, 0:09, archived)
# Yeh its a annoying inevitability that they will always future-proof software.
Cs3 will prob run smoothly in about 5 years time.
(, Sat 28 Jun 2008, 0:11, archived)
# works beautifully on my machine
admittedly it does resemble the monolith from 2001: a space oddesy and sounds like a jet fighter but hey
(, Sat 28 Jun 2008, 0:16, archived)
# yeah..
i meant i'm languishing in cs2 hence still with image ready.
(, Sat 28 Jun 2008, 0:09, archived)
# as long as you are with a CS of some kind
then all is well.
(, Sat 28 Jun 2008, 0:13, archived)
# i am always
C.S.Lewis is my home boy
(, Sat 28 Jun 2008, 0:16, archived)
# I hate to sound like a stupid head
but how do you even start an animation in ps cs3?
(, Sat 28 Jun 2008, 0:13, archived)
# Just any file, but bring the animation panel up.
Up with all the other panels like layers and so on under the Window menu
