but the cross-compatibility with other adobe programs is what wins it for me.
having said that there are hundreds of programs for gif animating; its a case of what you like really.

I've only animated in Flash so far; is it worth going back to FW for short anims?

# There is no imageready in CS3, all the animation features got absorbed into photoshop.
Which personally I think is unfortunate as there aren't really any save to web type features now.

# I remember there was a difference in it, although I can't remember how fewer comparison modes as in imageready or something.
Plus the new Photoshop is ridiculously slow and bevelled and all shiny, which is irritating.
