also sorry to TJ: but did anyone happen to catch the horribly blatent biased news reporting on the Evening Standard front page yesterday. The story was a real tragedy, two french university students at UCL had been tied up, stabbed a 150 times then the flat was fire bombed. the headline screamed 'THE TARANTINO MURDERS' in the news article there was a quote from someone at scotland yard saying 'it was like something from a tarantino movie' then there was a page break and the story continued four pages later with the line 'Tarantino is famous for his particularly brutal films'. disgusting journalism. i hate the evening standard, its like the Mail lite

and it belittled the two victims - if they were not French the headline wouldn't have been used, but if non-British it ok
Evening Standard = Daily Mail lite

but then i'm very cynical as a rule. i'm a little suspicious about the day befores headlines of "PRINCE WILLIAM IN £40m DRUG BUST"
yeah, the prince HAPPENED to be on a helicopter that just so HAPPENED to stop a boat smuggling nearly a ton of cocaine into britain.
its a bit suspicious to me that this happened 4 days after he joined the Iron Duke...

We have the Manchester Evening News round these parts, which is equally rubbish in its journalistic integrity. Local/regional newspapers will do ANYTHING to shift copies...

especially when you consider that the readership of the Standard are tired commuters who will believe anything they read.
