I still prefer the painty D:It sounds a bit rude, for me to say I'm not fond of things which look too filtery, but it's true.
The most filters I tend to use are blurs, and occasionally that one which makes circles, polar to linear or something.

The image above is completelypainted, from scratch with photoshop brushes. No source material or excessive filter work. ( I did use the fibres filter to create the water, it was an easy cop out after spending 7 or so hours on the rest of it and getting to the bored stage ).
That's a nice manip. I like a bit of that stuff.
