I was thinking of thatch. The roof can be done at the end. It would be stupid to do it at the start. It would have nothing to sit on.

go on as soon as you have the shell up and can place the ridges and trusses. Usually before a watertight scheduled date but often before the windows and many internal walls. You'd be crazy to go thatch, costs more than a supercar to insure.
