# I would describe
someone as lary as that as a Chav. I know the term has class connotations that I'm not totally at ease with either, but it does unfortunately describe the mindset of some people.

# i know middle class chavs
it's not classist or racist.

It's about aggressive scum who think it's ok to intimidate folk and behave brainlessly.

# I don't think that means you're a chav
When I was a kid, we used to call those people 'townies'

or North of the Boarder: 'neds'

# bingo
stupid cunts who will probably end up in jail or intensive care.

(and who shop exclusively at JD Sports)

# I know plenty of people like that in the Conservative Party
are they chavs?

# pfffft
probably

# well
as long as they go around threatening people with knives, getting into fights for no reason and generally act like cunts, yes they are.

# Apart from the "knives"
bit, that could be a description of the posh idiots who go to York races, though.

# I'd throw them into the same category, personally
but perhaps 'cunt' is a better description than 'chav', I suppose.

# I have a theory that
people tend to go away with the impression upon seeing a group of people that they all acted like the loudest members in that group did. All stereotypes thus come from loud people.

Loud people are all dicks.

I know a couple of "chavs" who are perfectly decent people. They dress that way because their contempories do. As most people do, to some extent.

# sure, i've got some pretty 'chavvy' mates too
however if more of that type of person comes from one group than another then they will be typecast
