Who cares about maths?

Especially people studying it, you're just slower calculators with superfluous legs.

no one cares about the people that study it

and not a lot of people care about maths becuase it isn't obvious that it's there, or that it even has a use.

I don't *not* care about it

but you can't go around implying it's more important than language. The fact that you were able to be taught about it by another person would indicate you're wrong.

Anyway, you always pull out the whole maths thing (as I'm sure my mum used to do when she was your age) whenever anybody dares to say something's spelt wrong. It doesn't matter.

I didn't imply that it was more important than language. I implied it was more important than spelling. Communication had been achieved, even with a slight typo.

The fact that I was taught about maths by another person, doesn't have much to do with language, mathematics is in some sense it's own language.

I pull out maths because it's annoying to other people.

edit: oh, and I didn't say you in particular didn't care about it. just look at the amount of money spent on sport/sportsmen/sporting facilities. Then compare with the money spent on the sciences.
