I believe this is customary?

EDIT:
Tablet in question is a shitty Trust 200 from ASDA. It measures about A5 size tops, and is frankly crap. But I dug it out from its pile behind my PC this afternoon and had another go.
The biggest problem I have with it (and maybe some technical type can tell me what I'm doing wrong) is that the pen is defaulted to 'on' and has to be clicked 'off'. It'smighty confusing.
