# To save wasting a thread, can anyone help me?
Is there a way to connect a PS3 to a non-HDCP monitor?

Could I get an AV - DVI and audio cable?

The only connections the monitor has are DVI and an audio in. I know you can get HDMI - DVI, but apparently you need a HDCP monitor for that...

# Ah brilliant.
What do you do about audio?

# It comes through from my laptop speakers.
I don't know how or why, i don't really understand anything.

# I think...
...that ordinary games will work just fine with the HDMI - DVI converter, but Blu-ray movies will be a problem. Fucking DRM.

# I'm not sure.
I've heard people have been connecting with HDMI - DVI, and just gettign a black screen, and apparently it's because the monitors aren't HDCP.

Although I could well be wrong. I know very little about this sort of thing.

# I'm an engineer,
but I've never used a P$3. I could never trust a video game console that looks like it should be cooling my living room more than it can play games. [/Sony Design Blog]

HDMI - DVI converters are only a few quid on the eBayTube so you won't have lost out too much. I think one of my cow-workers has a P$3 and the converter dongle, I'll axe him when he gets back fro India...

Well I'll give that a try then. Thanks. :)
