I've spent all of tonight writing a CV and sending it out to as many companies i could think of, basically for a trade apprentiship.
But I would like to pursue graphic design/illustration, the only thing stopping me is that if i did, i'd have to go to college and live
on £30 a week EMA, which is hardly enough to run my ped with let alone live on.

Who's going to employ a novice on a salary?
Volunteer for a while if you consider yourself hot enough, and learn all you can; then apply for a proper job as a pro
