
- unfortunately a remake/re imagining of something old and safe like this is probably likely to make more money than a completely new film... so you might not last long as an executive... until you can convince the public that they don't want to see rehashed crap.

the movie industry in America is not about making good films any more - it's about making something that's better than most the other shit that weekend. If you want a bigger budget release it in the summer or at Christmas... otherwise pick the week you're going to release on, work out how much on average you might make for that weekend, set your budget at half of that and BINGO you're making a movie.
