Best thing to do is go into one of those small independant computer/phone shops.
You'll be able to be able to get one not made by Sony for 5-10 quid.
You shouldn't have to install the software as the computer should just recognise it as a storage devise.
Failing that you could always take the flash card out and either put it in a printer (if you have oe with card slots) or but a chreapy card reader.
