I just prefer things to be factually correct.
I am quite annoyed at religion per se but that's because it is halting the progress of civilisation.

and of course the intolerance to others of differing opinions is stifling the progression of humanity. If we could just ignore it and get on then things would be better. The sooner we are all brown and put superstitious nonsense in the past the sooner we will be able to progress as a species.

Jewish simply means one of the jewish faith.
Jews can be of any race as it is a choice. I can become jewish tomorrow. Being Caucasian I would have a slight problem becoming Asian tomorrow.
If you want jews to be a race of home sapien ( which is impossible of course, as religious choice has nothing to do with genetic make-up ) then you would have to allow that Catholics, Muslims and Shintoists were also a race.

Also, other words can mean more than one thing, and AMAZINGLY more than one meaning can be correct.
In this case, race has more meanings than the scientific meaning.
Now we know that you've studied something at school, but do be a dear and don't do the common thing of assuming that your piece of domain specific knowledge means that you are the worlds authority on all related, or *apparently related* in this case, matters.
You're the only one here specifying races in the biological classification sense of the word.

I just fail to see how anybody educated can confuse ethnicity ( which is social ) race ( which is genetic )
you can't argue that arab/armenid hybrids are the same as northern Europeans yet they are both the majority make up of the Jewish.
Even Israel's law of return defines a jew as "Definition 4B. For the purposes of this Law, "Jew" means a person who was born of a Jewish mother or has become converted to Judaism and who is not a member of another religion." which means that I can convert and go live in Israel as a Jew in whatever time period that process takes. But I remain Caucasian ( if somewhat brainwashed )

I'm talking about language. Race is not just genetic, that's only one definition. Go and look at the OED definition, that's the closest thing we have to an official language reference, and it's very clear.

"3. a group of people sharing the same culture, language, etc.; an ethnic group."
Of course not all people who are members of the Jewish religion can be called members of the Jewish race.

of etymology and not science.
and I re-iterate, if you can be a race of jews you can be a race of catholics based upon the same criteria

Because they are arabs.
The idea of being Jewish came from a group of two separate cultural groups, one Egyptian and one Canaanite ( Jordanian ) who shared a religious view that was not tolerated where they lived and so they moved ( widely accepted as the seeds of the exodus story ) into Palestine in order to escape religious intolerance and of course just stirred up more. So Jews who are arabs share a genetic trait. The same as the Caucasian jews from Northern European stock do, but neither are of the same racial stock.

I don't do flouncing. I do trolling for personal entertainment.
And if you have given up arguing anthropology with me ( which is a good idea ) then you may fuck off because outside of debate I'm not willing to converse with you given the vile abuse you have subjected me to in the past.
