if you don't havea real time checker ( as part of a virus checker suite ) running then you can visit certain websites that will 'inject' these into the page and install them surreptitiously. Often even the page creator does not know of it because the page is hacked for this purpose.
Gaz me if you have any issues with spybot but I consider it a must have tool and should be run as a full scan at least once a fortnight.
