Oooo. while I'm at it 'ningles and does can some suggest a good avi to gif converted. Bonus points if it can select a part of the avi to convert.

you can cut the bit you want, resize and save individual frames, then put them into a gif, if that's any good

# I usually open up teh avi in quicktime, trim the file to teh bit I want, save,
then:

file- Import- video frames to layers
