I need to do the same.

I just try and remember the filename, or at least as close as I can get.

If I need to hunt for something, I just hook up to the ftp thing and search through the folder. I need a simpler way, though :(

I've got pushing 800 files in the 'files' folder, it's a lot to try and remember.

Just keep an identical folder on your harddrive with all the same filenames.

Or alternatively, just have one massive jpeg with thumbnails of all the images with filenames all in alphabetical order. Then just keep that image bookmarked.
